End of Tenancy Cleaning Checklist

This is WharfReady's standard end of tenancy cleaning checklist. It separates work included in the base clean, optional extras and tasks outside the normal cleaning service. Your agreed quote identifies any additions or property-specific requirements.

01Kitchen

Oven interior, racks and glass cleaned; double-oven and range additions are separate.

Hob and extractor cleaned, including accessible washable filters.

Fridge and washing-machine surfaces cleaned; the freezer must be defrosted first unless defrosting is booked.

Dishwasher cleaned, including the filter and door seals where reachable.

Cupboards and drawers cleaned inside only when emptied, with fronts and accessible exteriors wiped.

Worktops, splashbacks, sink and taps cleaned; removable limescale is not restoration of etched or damaged surfaces.

Reachable internal windows, sills and ledges cleaned.

Skirting boards, door frames, switches and hard floors wiped, vacuumed or mopped as appropriate.

02Bathrooms

Shower screen, bath, basin and taps cleaned; removable limescale is not restoration of etched or damaged surfaces.

Toilet cleaned inside and out.

Tiles and grout cleaned for surface dirt, soap residue and surface mould; this is not specialist mould remediation.

Mirrors and reachable internal glass polished.

Extractor fan vent wiped externally.

Bathroom cabinets cleaned inside only when emptied and otherwise on accessible external surfaces.

Skirting boards, door frames and floors cleaned as appropriate.

03Bedrooms and living areas

Cobwebs removed from reachable ceilings and corners.

Skirting boards, doors, frames, switches, sockets and reachable light fittings wiped.

Reachable internal windows, sills and ledges cleaned.

Mirrors and glass surfaces polished.

Radiators wiped down.

Wardrobes and drawers cleaned inside only when empty, with accessible exteriors wiped.

Furniture dusted and wiped according to the furnishing scope.

Carpets vacuumed. Carpet extraction is a separately priced extra; it is not included in the base clean.

Hard floors vacuumed and mopped as appropriate.

04Hallways and stairs

Skirting boards, bannisters, doors and frames wiped down.

Front door cleaned internally.

Switches, sockets, mirrors and reachable internal glass cleaned.

Hallway and stair floors vacuumed and mopped as appropriate.

Prepare the property

Remove personal belongings and heavy rubbish, empty cupboards and drawers that need internal cleaning, and leave the booked areas accessible. Defrost the freezer unless the defrost service has been included in your quote. Tell us about keys, concierge arrangements, parking and lift restrictions before the clean is confirmed.

Plan the clean after belongings have been removed and before the final handover. Tell us if other work or visitors are scheduled after cleaning.

Optional extras

These services are not part of the standard checklist but can be added to your quote:

Carpet extraction; standard carpet vacuuming remains included.
Balcony cleaning.
Blinds and shutters: deep wet wiping; basic dusting follows the standard scope.
Upholstery, mattress and rug cleaning.
Freezer defrosting, double-oven and range-cooker additions.

Exclusions and scope limits

External windows: the standard scope covers reachable internal glass only, unless otherwise agreed.
Permanent staining, etched surfaces and material damage: removable limescale and surface dirt cleaning is not restoration.
Embedded mould or damaged silicone: surface mould cleaning is not specialist mould remediation.
Heavy rubbish and personal belongings: the property must be cleared before arrival.
Furnishing: furniture scope follows the furnishing rules in the agreed quote.
